1998 marked a year of change for the Beantown Softball League. Club Café, a long time sponsor within the league has decided to sponsor a second team.

After the 1998 World Series, The "Luxor Jox" voted to switch from its old sponsor to Club Café. Since Club Café already had a team called the ANGELS, the new Club Café team chose the nick name of DEVILS. In November of 1998, the Devils, and Angels went to Ft. Lauderdale to compete in the "Hurricane Showdown". (you'll see some links to pics below).

It is now January, 1999. The winter league meetings are in full swing, with committee after committee being established to determine the league structure, the fees, what fields to play on, etc. Meanwhile the Club Café Angels, and Club Café Devils are having winter meetings as well. It appears both teams are headed to Phoenix for a pre-season tournament. This will be the first preaseason tournament for the Devils, (but MANY years of talking about it). Both teams hope that this will help them get off to a very good start in the BSL, come May.
Be sure to stop by Club Café Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights, and say hello to the softball team players helping out at the coat check.

As the season approaches, and events start unfolding, be sure to check back here. We will post photo's, stories, (some funny, some not so funny )...... who knows. The only way to find out, is to come back.
